I have a bit of an algae problem, nothing huge but bait unsightly. I was recommended a small 'sucker' fish, grows no longer than 2 inches. Problem is I have forgotten the name! Began with an 'O' if that helps. Cleans algae of pretty much everything and can be seen hanging by their mouths off the tank glass. Any ideas?

Want to look up what they eat (other than algea) optimal tank temp, etc.

Thanks

it would be much better to try and find the cause of the algae rather than buy fish to do it as they will never keep on top of it.....

have a read on this site to see if it can help you out :good:

but carlovel1 is probably right in the fact that you were advised on otocinclus :good:

algae eating species will only eat certain kinds of algae though bare in mind. otos are good for eating diatoms and few others but not all algae will be consumed by them. other species will only ever eat other types of algae too i know of no fish that will eat all types of algae  the siames algae eater is good for bba algae apparently but again wont touch all types..... so dont think that buying some algae eaters will cure your algae issues as it probably wont

Ah! That's it, thanks guys.

Good point on the source of the algae. I shall look into it.
