I'm trying to decide what fish and how many, to put with this little Betta, I'm thinking about Panda Cory's, or Rasbora's also I don't have a quarantine tank and I am a little concerned about possible problems. My tank is 3 gal 78* to 80*
thanks for any suggestions

My betta lives with zebra danios which people say are too active, but mine even likes chasing after them sometimes.
I have neon tetra but they are going back to LFS to swap for harlequin rasboras because the tetra are fin nippers.....so i'd advise against them.
I also have a little pitbull pleco :)

in a 3 gal i would go betta only, other fish need more space. i wouldn't personally keep tankmates with bettas in any less than 7 gals.

yeah sorry didn't see your tank size....betta only I'm afraid....
my tank is 55 litres which is 14.5 gallons...

too bad, well a larger tank is right on my list. i want to move this guy to the 10 when get something bigger for my goldfish

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but my question is pretty pertinent to this... I've been wanting to get some pygmy corys for my tank but I think it's too small. Would 2 corys be too much for a 5 gal planted tank with a betta and shrimp? Would just one work, or do they need to be in groups?

i have 4 habrosus pygmy corys and they're always following each other around the tank, definately don't keep one alone!

is your tank tall or long? if it's long you can possibly squeeze in a trio, if it's a tall i'd skip it, not enough footprint. they're small but very active!

It's more tall than anything, but it's got a good 18-20 inches or so in diameter...Would this be enough for 2? I wouldn't want to keep one alone....And I wouldn't want to get them if there wasn't enough room. What do you think? ( If it dosn't work with them I could always take them back or put them in my mum's 25 gal tank.

mine is only the 3 gal so it's pretty much square, the gal at the LFS suggested 2 corys, and another guy at the LFS suggested the resboras but i don't know he mentioned a number I'm guessing 2,3,4.. but maybe the tank is just too small
