What fish next??

I'm stumped for what to get next in my 25 gallon tank- see sig.

I'm going to get a ruby shark but that will be added closer to the end of stocking.

I was thinking of some rams but would they be too agresive?

Note- the sailfin plec is only 2inch at the moment and by the time it needs it i'll have a 6ft tank for him to enjoy.

I would like some more plecs or maybe some cories but would also like to to fill the higher levels???

With 2 plecs and 2 botia, you could probably fit 3 cories. Rams wouldn't be aggressive unless they were spawning. In a tank that size, you might be able to get away with 2 males or 2 females if there's enough hiding areas for territories. Rams are pretty much bottom dwelling too though, so I wouldn't get those AND cories.

For your next step, are you thinking of a school of smaller fish (emperor tetras would be pretty in there) or a single fish or 2 that are bigger?

3 botia!!

There's plenty of hiding places, it's well planted with a few bits of slate and large peice of bogwood with swim throughs.

Although i like the cories i think rams would have to win that decision.

I'd like the idea of fewer bigger fish really.

also the platties were mearly to get the tank started which will be moved to my crab tank. although the scissor tails from my lobster tank might be moved into this tank

What about neon or honey dwarf gouramis? Lots of color there and no competition for the bottom territories.

deffinately not neon tetras!! i bought 6 to start off with and 5 of them died and aint topping them back up!!

Yeah I was thinking gouramies but my LFS wanted me to wait a bit for the tank to mature which i'm doing as they were an original plan!!

I saw your for sale ad which i would of considered but your a bit to far just for a fish....if it was for a tank yeah but the petrol costs would be more.
