What Fish Is Nipping My Other Fishes Fins And Killing Them ?

hey, right i cant talk it anymore i just lost 1 of my 2 silver dollars along with a few other fish within a week

please let me know whats nipping my fishes tails and fins out of this list if you can

Dwarf gouramis
Balloon Red Eye Tetras
Black Neons
Neon Tetras
Swordtail
Rosy barbs (i seen these attacking the other fish so i put them in a breeding trap but there's still 2 more in the tank)
Cherry barb
Feather fin catfish
Corydoras
Red Tail Shark
Golden Suckers
Pleco


please let me know so i can sort it out i only got the silver dollars on saturday

hi are the golden suckers chinese algae eaters? because they go for flat sided fish. quite a few of your fish are 'nippy' so not sure.

yeah thay are chinese algae eaters i just had a look at pics on the internet

i would guess they are the culprit as they can be very aggressive. how old are they? read the bit about them
i did have two in my tank but after reading on here and asking people i took them back to the shop

What size is your RTBS, once these get to around 3-4" some can turn highly aggressive, I would say most possibly its the shark.

what size tank is it? the reason i ask is that you have a red tailed black shark that can get very teritorial and may attack other fish. also the golden suckers when older can be very menacing and can latch on to fish to suck the slime from them and also can be very aggressive. dwarf gouramis in my past experience are very nippy and wont mind what size fish they pick on.....
if it was down to the fish being bullied and nipped then i would say its 1 of the above. if you are just finding dead fish that have been nipped then it coulkd have happened after they have died as the other inhabitants will try to eat or peck at a dead fish.
have you checked your water parameters?
the stocking seems to be very mixed up and if the tank isnt quite large then there is alot of teritorial and aggressive fish in there

oh man now i got 3 half dead fish

i think its the rosy barbs now i got all 4 in breeding traps now i'll see how it gose from there

the shark is around 3 inches

the chinese algae eaters are kinda big well ones big ish and ones small

the fish are having there fins and tails nipped then just floting around the tank till thay die

i got one half dead silver dollar one half dead black tetra

and one half dead balloon red eye tetra

my tank is 3ft long 1ft high and 1ft wide

i think i found the ones that were doing it

it was the rosy barbs couse i put the other 2 rosys in a breeding trap and now all my fish seem kinda happyer now
