Hi

I have just brought a 30L biorb, I did originally want 3 dwarf puffers and a cleaner fish, but maybe this will not be suitable?

Can anyone suggest anything else at all? something nice and colourful?

Thanks
Vicky :hyper:

Have you already done all your research on cycling and setting up a tank already?

Without fish, I am letting it settle for about 2-3 weeks before I add some fish, do you think that is OK?

you will need to add ammonia to cycle the tank, simply leaving it will do nothing. There are lots of topics in the begginers forum. Also a good liquid based test kit might be a wise purchase. If your parents still keep fish it might be a good idea to take some substrate or filter medium from their tank(s) to speed up the cycling process.

personnaly i wouldnt put puffers in a biorb as they prefer a sand substrate and in a biorb you cant do that. i suggest you do a fishless cycle for 2-3weeks and then, add 2-3 livebearers preferably guppies or platies. id leave any kind of tetra for 6 months, but remember in a biorb 30 you can only get 30cm of fish in it for the fish to be happy. so in the end thats 6 guppies. or anything in that kind of size range. but if you are willing to do more frequant water changes you could squeze to or more in. after 4-6 months i would say 2 honey gouramis and a small shoal of 6 neons. with a biorb i would never buy a catfish becuase there delicate barbels get damaged on the biorb substrates

because the way reef one have disigned the biorb this is not possible. becuase there isnt a power head its just an air stone which creates a syphon and sucks the water through the pads

i know i own 3 of them.. its is possible :) you remove the filter thats built in and simply add the small eheim aqaua ball filter

read this, you will see what Jen has done, they look fab :)
