I was wondering if anyone could recommend a suitable fish food to feed 2 corys. I was recommended one by my LFS when I brought them but the pellets are too light and either get eaten by the other fish as they are not dropping fast enough or get sucked into the filter and as a result very little drops to the bottom, and I am not sure if the corys are getting enough.

Other fish in the tank:
4 platies
2 Guppies

Any suggestions for suitable fish food would be appricated

Thanks

I bought one of these:

My Corys and Doras love them, especially the Algae and Krill :good:

They sink in seconds and are too big for other fish to pinch.

They sit on the bottom and dissolve in a couple of minutes.

EDIT: Link does not work because something in the forum software keeps shortening the address

Thanks for the replies.

The link works for me smegforbrains, am considering buying them as it looks like a good buy.

Do people reccomend feeding in the morning and evening for corys?

i recomend you feed flake first that way ure guppies and platties will fill them selfs up on the flake then pop ure pellets in a few mins later and they wont eat as mutch ov the pellets :good:

i feed my corys first thing in the morning and last thing at night

Corys need their own food, therefore you should look to feed them as individual fish. A good staple diet for corys is tetra tabimin and prima. Other foods that can be also fed are crushed flake and live or frozen foods should only be given as a treat or if you are conditioning for breeding.

If you can, feed twice a day. This will keep them in tip top condition and healthy :)

Thanks for all the replies.

We have bought the assortment of foods from the ebay link provided. The pellets included that we have tried so far all sink quickly which is good! Just tried the Algae ones, and its brought the corys out to investigate!

Will try the different ones through the week, going to try doing monring and evening feeding as well.

Do you think that the foods included in this pack will provide a balanced enough diet for the corys? They are Algae pellets, spirolina pellets, krill pellets and bloodworm pellets.

We are still feeding our usual flakes for the others, and will continue with the usual bit of lettuce as well.

Hi,

Food that my corys get are,

Left overs from King British Tropical Flake, and TetraPrima Mini Granules.

Ment for the corys are British king Catfish pellet food ( which my Betta loves, as to the Apple snails ).
Also Frozen blood worm, Freeze dried Tubifex Worms, but all the other fish like these to.

Last of all is ment for the Apple snails, Hikari Crab Cuisine. Both the corys and Betta love, well the fish i've got do
