I was wondering what fish you can out in a 2ft x 1ft x 1.5ft tank with a pair of breeding convicts. Is it just fish there own size or should i just leave them at it? I owuld like to put some sort of algae eater in the tank but don't know if a plec would be ripped a part.

They'll kill or at best terrorize anything you put in there. Convicts are only good fish if you don't mind them alone, or you have a nice big tank.

Plecos are pretty well armored fish. I would think they would do fine even with breeding Convicts. Remember to consider adult size when choosing your pleco, some get quite large and need a much larger aquarium.

I've kept breeding Convicts with other Cichlids and it resulted in a lot of gill flaring, but no injuries. It takes a very well balanced aquarium, a large aquarium and not being overstocked. It is something I would say we need to be careful with when attempting, but completely possible.
