I wanted to add some more fish to my tank and i was wondering what would be the best ones to add? I have a 36 gallon tank and the temp is always at 83 F My tank includes:

1 Red Tailed Shark
1 Gouramis
1 Platy
1 Tetra
1 Angel Fish
1 Algae Eater

Hi geddy. Welcome.

I can't comment on the fish that would work well - but I just wanted to say that I would recommend turning down the temp about 5 degrees. Will be a bit more like their natural environment - and safer.

Well, honestly, what you have there, some are schooling fish and need friends.

The platy needs a couple more platys and the tetra needs friends too.

Gourami's are ok alone, but I would get a friend for the angel as well. Angels like to be with someone else.

Yes you've got a number of schooling fish there that are on they own which is far from ideal + angels eat tetras once they get a bit bigger. Your tank also needs to be 18" high to accomadate an angel and whilst they do pair off if the option is there they can live perfectly happily on their own. Just make sure you keep an eye on the aggression.

The algae eater could be anything from an eventual 18" monster to a perfectly good 4" fish. Depends on the species. Make it a prioriy to find out what it is.

The platys and tetras need a school although I would definitly not keep tetras and angels together.
