I have a red-eared slider. He eats fish plus the regular staple food we give him. I am not sure about adding any fish to the tank, maybe try a catfish or something large with protection of some sort..but still, the fish would be harrassed by the turtle, and you have to consider your tank space, etc, not to mention turtles are big time waste producers, and adding fish to the mix would just double that issue. My personal recommendation is not to get any fish. I know that sounds like a bummer, as fish with the turtle would look soooo gorgeous, but I think any fish with him would end up living in terror, if they were lucky enough not to end up devoured or nipped to death. LOL.
