What Filter Medie Do I Use

basically what filter media should i use

i dont think i should use carbon or should i also should i just use normal sponges

What filter you got?
you only need carbon really to remove med, colouring or really bad smells

well a load of sponges are in it with some carbon in a sock and like filter floss aswell

but willl the carbon remove the ferts

carbon does remove nutrients, but in small amounts which wont affect plant health. some just use it for its large surface area for bacteria colonization
