What Filter For 220 Gallon?

Probably the smartest decision on a tank of that size....that way you can just use one really strong water pump and place it in the sump.

It would take consideration and thinking to design it/set it up but it would be most worth it, as long as the main tank isn't a live planted one.

the main tank will have plants in it, and i would like to have half of it heavily planted, while the other half remains a lightly planted fish farm :) (just a figure of speech)

Well....you can still design a sump type set up without it being a wet/dry filter.

The possibilities are endless, really.

Eheim Professionel 3 Canister Filter, suitable for tanks up to 1200ltr/270 gallons :)

I deally what i'd like to have would be one or two decently priced canister filters, plus a large sump.

If i'm able to effectivly save the cash for this large setup, without having to sell my 55 gallon setup, I will use the 55 gallon tank as a sump :D
I should easily be able to fit it in a stand large enough to hold a 220 gallon aquarium :)

the Eheim Professionel 3 (2080) can be bought for around £175 first hand - a little more than two smaller externals and definately less than two smaller externals and converting a tank to a sump. and less spave :D though not as satisfying to make :)
