Hi all, I'm looking for some kind of recommendation.
There must have been some snail eggs on my last batch of plants so now I'm trying to get rid of the snails.

Tank is 10 gallon, planted.
Home to 1 male betta and 3 otos.

Is there something that will get along with a male betta, eat the snails, and not uproot all my plants? AND fit in a 10 gallon?

your best bet would be to add a peice of cumcummber over night, snails love cumcumber so will be attrarcted to it, then remove it in the morning and dispose of, continue for a few days and you should b rid of snails :good:

nothing, sorry!

your only option IMO would be dwarf chain loaches but there isn't room for a pair of them in your tank

Hmm, I haven't tried cucumber. I tried the lettuce method and that didn't work. I guess b/c in a planted tank, it was just one more leaf of something. Maybe they'll like cucumber better.

I tried some blanched lettuce on one of my tanks, and it took a few days for any interest, but then it was gone within a few days! I used the crunchy/white part of a lettuce and put it in a bowl of boiling water for 30 seconds or so, so it went soft.

Cucumber should work just as well though :)

the best bet for you tank is flubenol 15, it is a
med that kills internal parasitical worms but also has the same effect on invertibrates

I'm not sure on the US regs of flubenol.
flubenol.co.uk say they can ship to any country but
the onus is on the purchaser to ensure that it is legal to import this medication into their home country.

Thanks all. I have to run to the petstore today for something else anyway, so I'll check on the flubenol & keep that in mind if the cucumber method doesn't work.
