I may just be stupid, but that thread is very confusing.
Can you please post all of the tanks you have and their inhabitants, and the nature of the filtration (cycled or not) and then it will be easier to give advice!
Obviously you should be putting the discus in a cycled or partially cycled system asap. While you are setting up the tank ready to receive it you should at least aerate the container you have the discus in to reduce stress levels.

there in my sig every tank is cycled except the 60G which i cant use...the discus is in the 35G because i had to go to work....hopefully he will be ok...but im not counting on it the owner didnt even think he'd survive the journey but he did...fingers crossed...i shall sort something out for the little guy tonight if he's still alive...
