Wow I can't believe I forgot to mention that...55 gallon with almost triple turnover filtration

You could get a couple more labs and then you'd be fully stocked. For a fully stocked mbuna tank you should be looking at a total turnover of at least 8 times per hour. Although between filter(s) and powerheads 29-30 times per hour isn't unheard of.

Three will be ok as long as they are juveniles, since you have to overstock to cut down on aggression and mbuna are messy fish, you need a lot of filtration.
