I have a 40 gallon community tank, in which I would like to add some female bettas if possible( i have one female CT in a betta keeper and id like to put her in there when she is bigger). The thing is, i only have (2) 3 gallon tanks, one is empty and one houses a black devil CT that i want to breed. I have an empty 10 gallon i could use as a fry tank, but i was wondering if it was at all possible to house the male bettas that could possibly be produced in breeder nets inside the tank instead of seperate tanks. I plan on using my other 3 gallon for a pretty blue and orange BF betta we got in a shipment, I am not an expert in betta tails as of yet, but its not a veil spade or crown so that really only leaves HMs and deltas and i really like him, so im going to buy him either way. do you think it would work? give me some advice please! thanks!

Hi

I know what you're saying and sounds like a plan, but.....if you breed them and you get predominantly male fry you could have 50, 100 or even 150 babies. They would need to be in the spawning/fry tank till they are approx 8-12 weeks. Even then it can be difficult to sex them

Its one of those dilemmas, you could get 30 babies, but then again you could get 200!

yes, i see, i dont have nearly enough fish tanks or space for that , well, space i have, but my people hate my fish already and wouldnt be happy. I guess I'll have to wait then. thanks... lol i didnt expect to see such a big number lol
