What Do You Think About A Piece Of 'hardware Of The Week'?

Sumps
Skimmers
Powerheads
Calcium reactors
dah de dah

This would obviously be a limited subject as there are only so many pieces of hardware - we could perhaps either have it as a monthly topic or maybe fortnightly, what do you think?

At least if you do a kind of mini review of whats good and whats not of the particular make and model of your own piece of equipment, it may help newbies to make a decision.

I am aware of that Truck, but it is not as you say monthly, it is every two months and was not really what I was thinking.

We are always getting asked:

What powerhead
help me understand a sump
what skimmer

dah de dah, it would be a resource for us all but aimed at those just starting to consider say a skimmer. I was thinking along the lines of Tina

Not being a salty but being a real hardware freak I'm for it. Do understand that is a totally biased opinion from someone who has been messing with mechanical things since childhood.

One thing I also thought would be good, is that if people have the same piece of hardware, they still do an individual review.

Sometimes peoples opinions on an item varies and it would be good to collect that feedback. If there are more revies saying an item is good than bad, or the other way round it can help make a decision much better than someone just saying that an item is rubbish.

Hope you understand that, it feels like I rambled a little.

I think its a pretty good idea. People could basically review their own hardware and add their thoughts and experiences to the thread with maybe a poll of some sort. It might help new members decide on the best hardware for them. Since new hardware comes out pretty much every few months, the threads would constantly be updated.

For each topic there could be things about price, features, pros and cons, etc.

will set it up over the weekend, to start Saturday (if I get home a bit early on Friday will try and get it done then so it fits in with the coral/fish of the week.

as IMO it would be beneficial to the planted and freshwater folk if something like a powerhead was reviewed and was put in their too
