Hi all,

Looking for other peoples opinions on what they like don't like about their LFS and what would the ideal LFS be like?

Clean tanks with no dead fish. Also, if I see a bunch of tanks with one single cory in each one, I turn around and walk out.

Clean tanks.. no dead fish floating around.. i understand that sometimes fish dont make it, but a good LFS is keeping an eye on their stock and if a fish dies it gets removed ASAP, Im generally looking for a store that sells both FW and SW stock, if i'm checking out a new store or one i haven't been to i always ask a few questions i already know the answer to in order to gauge how knowledgeable the staff are... nothing annoys me more than when people say.. well the guy at the fish store said (insert wrong information here)

really though clean healthy looking tanks and knowledgeable staff are what makes a store for me.

Clean, disease free tanks. I like to know the staff are knowledgeable, so you know the fish are getting proper care.
Along with quality fish and good range of products. :good:

One of the ones near me told me to use a whole bottle of fin rot treatment due to it being a clown loache that was ill. : s
Not very good advice. Lol

If I had the choice: clean tanks with a good selection and knowledgeable staff.

However my choice locally is petsmart and crappy lfs so I have to stick with poor selection and bad advice lfs.

It's definitely major negative points for me if I walk into a store and find dead fish in their tanks...
