So I still haven't received my diffuser a over a month after ordering. Starting to wonder if they sent it all as I wasn't even charged. Anyway, I bought an aquaclear 70 powerhead (cost me a penny, their mistake lol) But will it diffuse my pressurized CO2 good? Also, is it too much for a 55gal tank?
Will it help me get rid of my algae? I had a smaller pump in there but still have green spot algae problems as well as some sort of threadlike algae. I can't tell the difference between staghorn, hair, and oedogonium

So I am worried about my gbr and adding kno3. I checked the level and it was bright red in color (api master test kit), showing about 40ppm. I am going by the EI ferts
40-60 Gallon Aquariums
+/- 1/2 tsp KN03 3x a week
+/- 1/8 tsp KH2P04 3x a week
+/- 1/8 (10ml) Trace Elements 3x a week
50% weekly water change

Is it too much or do I need not worry?

Test thing says
ph 7.2
no3 40
no2 0
ammonia 0

Still have algae issues, but I got a powerhead a few days ago and my diffuser came today. However the drop checker still shows dark greenish blue. Bubbles are 1 per second. Is my equipment placed wrong?

Nothing really to do with the algae issues but your tank would looks much better with a glass thermometer. The black stick on one keep drawing my eye to it

why add KNO3 if you are worried about high nitrates??
and wouldnt a few more fast growing plants help that issue and the algae issue?

I was told to add them anyway.
"You should dose KNO3 KH2PO4 and traces according to either EI or PMDD recipes and allow the plants to tell you whether in fact the fish are supplying anything useful."
Although I can't tell whether or not if the fish help because I don't know what to look for -_-

I don't have any more room for plants. Unless I take out the crypts. They aren't really growing much... That patch of moss takes up quite a bit of room. I'm trying to grow it so I can hang in on the side of the tank and see how that goes. I usually have a lot more hornwort growing but I cut it back. More plants would help?

Hey, I didn't really think about the thermometer. Good point though. I would probably get more accurate reading in temperature anyway. Hehe, thank you for pointing it out.
