We were out of town for just over a week, and during that time a friend came in to feed the fish. When we got home 4 days later, I realized the lights had been left on the entire time. Now algae has overtaken these tanks, and I need some help eliminating it! I did large water changes right away, and it looks much better, but for instance my anubias is covered in a dark slimy kind of stuff, and it won't come off with a brush or rubbing. Is there an overall cure or do I need to wait it out? Start from scratch? Ugh.

Put your BN and cherry shrimp in the tank, don't feed for a week and complete blackout for a few days.

Thanks, Prime. I've done large water changes and with the lighting back to normal it seems to be clearing up.

Another question, my 29g has the green algae on the glass that I have to scrape off ... is there a cure for this? And it's weird ... it stops 2/3 of the way up the glass. There's a definite line there.
