What Do People Keep

Hi im new and was just wondering what cichlids people were keeping and in what size tanks

i have 2 bolivian rams in a 50 gallon community tank
i have an oscar in a 90 gallon tank

all 3 cichlids!

I keep various types of Geophagus species.

I have a couple Severum (thought it was a male/female pair and now am not sure), a very very large oscar (about a year old and he is over a foot long), a female convict, a male pink convict, a pair of apistogramma agassizzi, and two pair of apistogramma panduro.

I am going to keep four angelfish in a 44 gallon.... I can get away with this because they are altums and probably won't even think about spawning in that tank...

Mostly angels, a couple cons & an oscar. 14 tanks runnning between 10 & 65 gallons.

The only Cichlids i have now are 3 peacock bass and an oscar that im babysitting for a friend. The p bass are two 12" monos in a 200g and a 6" occelaris growing out in a 65g.

4 pairs of blue/gold rams and about 500 babies (eggs to 3/4 inch)
1 orange discus "survivor" that a friend gave me
1 baby oscar with HITH (rescue)
1 female convict that's leaving home soon

plus killifish and a mean-a$$ rainbow shark from hades

Just seen your pics nice.

I,ve always fancyed a nice large tank with discus, serverums and some rays, until my lfs put me off the idea, he said he was having porblems with the rays grabing the sideof the discus and eating the slime of there sides, he'de lost a few because of it.

rays with discus will work as long as the discus are big enought not to be overpowered buy the rays and the rays are kept well fed

but most rays will out grow the discus at some point

uaru.f are a stronger fish than discus but the mix i have wont last forever
