I Need Help!! -_- My Female guppy wont stop having babies!!! I now have about 15 babies, and the mom in a 10 gallon tank. I have 5 that are at least a couple months old, and then I have like 10 that are newborn! They all get along, and I don't know what to do with them! And the worst part is she still looks pregnant! Do you guys know how many batches of fry they can have from one pregnancy? I fed one baby to my betta and he gulped the little baby up SO fast, but I just can't do it anymore, I almost cried when I did it. :-( I don't think my lfs will take them either, especially not this young! So all I have is one more question, what is the maximum amount that I could squeze into a 10 gallon? PLEASE HELP guys! I need your advice!!!

well normaly ppl would say 1gal per half inch of fish. so thats like 5 or 6 guppys. mhm...i really dont know what to tell ya. give away as many as you can?...only keep males try not to keep females. an try to get an extra 10gal at walmart(only like 15$) an seporate the males an females.

guppys can have upto 7 batches of fry without seeing the male, i dont know what else to tell you but maybe next time she's about to give birth just leave the fry in the tank.and you think you have alot of guppy fry i'v got about 56!

Do you have any friends you can give them to?
My friend and I are like... partners when it comes to our fish so she always takes some of my fry. (The ones I get from her never last, though. But oddly, the ones I give her last in her tank. Hmph.)

I thought about getting another tank, but I dont have enough space!!! :X

Darn breeding fish.
So you don't have a friend you can give them to?

hey I live in Colorado too...

If you don't have enough space for another tank, could you possibly get a bigger tank to replace this one? Or you could get a tall tank, that has a small footprint, but is a bigger tank.

You'll need to do something to give away, or seperate your fry. You don't want young males and females breeding together and giving you even more babies. Are you sure your pet store won't take them? Have you tried asking people on this forum if they want them? In the Buy and Sell section?

you dont want to many generations. they will imbread an the more that happens the more lickly they are to get sick an stuff.
