what do betta eggs look like

;) Well they are round (Believe it!!!) and they sink to the ground and the male/female pick them up and put them in the bubblenest they are a see-through/white colour with a black dot (the fish) :D

this isn't about the eggs, more in general.

i've seen all your posts on Betta breeding, and it's cool you're interested in breeding your Fish, but please please please do not risk them unless you absolutely know what you are doing and can handle the chance of 500+ fry in jars!

I agree with BB'Z

itty bitty, please tell me you didn't breed your bettas in that little tank

Hell no! I didn't have ANY proper equipment set up, so I cleaned out what I could. I felt soooooo bad. She was tending to the 3 or 4 that were left over. All for naught because they weren't fertilized. So sad. She's the liveliest betta I have and the only one that will play with me by chasing my finger and nipping at it.

whew, you had me worried about ya for a few !

And yes, females usually ooze with personality ,I  my girls

I can't believe ALL my boys are chicken! Did the LFS traumatize them or something?!

Itty bitty... I'm confused. -_- Are you saying that your female betta 'lay' her own eggs in a bubble nest? I don't get it. When bettas breed, the male squeezes the eggs out of the female and they fall to the bottom of the tank, where the male picks them up in his mouth and spits them into the bubble nest. While I've heard of the females assisting in the placement of the eggs, I've not heard of a female trying to breed all alone. I didn't even realise they had the physical ability to 'lay' their own eggs. :dunno:

She already exploded when I got home. I wasn't there when it happened, but there were eggs all over the tank. She built some sort of weak bubblenest. My poor baby..... :-(

You mean that wasn't supposed to happen? She became bloated a week after I got her and I know I wasn't overfeeding her. And then when I got back from the same LFS I got her - KA-BLOOEY!!! Eggs all over the place. She seems alright now, swimming, keeping active, still chasing and nipping at my finger, and a voracious appetite.

 I dunno what to say....I have females who build nests and I've had a female that dropped her eggs while the male built his nest. But for a girl to put them in the nest after dropping the eggs and building the nest all by herself

Whatta show that must of been for the guy closest to her to see :hey: :kira:

:dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

That guy was me! I isolated her because I didn't know why the heck she was getting bloated. I got scared, so I gave her a nice quiet place to recuperate from any strress or what have not.

:kira: :kira: :kira:
