my ebjd had been hiding away for a couple of days which i thought was odd but i had seen him eat so thought he must just be hiding.

but i came home today to find his poor little body on a peice of bog wood

all my water stats were fine and every thing else in the tank is fine and healthy

i was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on why this may have happened?

Sorry to hear of your loss. You more than likely did absolutely nothing wrong, he could of had a bacterial infection that wouldnt show in your water stats. How long have you had him? it could be something he came with that you would never have known about.

ive had him since the the 19th of march and was fine all that time till a couple of days ago.

I have just lost an acara, had him since February, had a gut feeling something was not quite right with him as he was really quiet, I treated the tank for everything, bacterial infection, parasite and ich meds. My water stats were all fine, but I still lost him. I think sometimes it just depends on how the fish was reared from hatching, I have been looking at this recently and it seems that fast growing fry foods to make them grow ready for selling can cause long term damage, ending up in an aparantly healthy fish suddenly dying for no reason?
