I havve had enough of my community aquarium to be honest i dont really enjoy them the only fish i like in there is my angel and rams.
So here it is the tank is 30g I would like to keep my angel and my 2 rams what else could i house with them i do like firemouths could i safely house one what else could i house.

No firemouths will rip the s**t out of the angels and rams, maybe a blue acara or 2?

what's the height of the tank? for angels it needs to be about 18inches + really for proper growth.

i wouldn't go with firemouths as they grow 6inches long and can sometimes be aggressive.

try if your tank is tall enough, an angel, rams and if your planning on cichlids? some apisto's maybe, or f your not going with cichlids a shoal of tetra but not neons cardinals maybe.

no i dont really want the community fish i like cichlids i have a mbuna tank already but want to convert my community tank in to NW cichlids and keep my angel and ram. It works out to 116ltr or 31usg its a tad over 18" high so what could i keep with my 2 rams and 1 angel???

actually, i have one 3" angel in with a comunity of S.A cichlids including such agressive fish as, convicts, sajicas, gar, 8" choco cichlid, and a small snakehead ( channa striatus )... they all get onn fine and the angel has never been attacked, hes VERY tough for his size and somewhere along the line i think nothing has happened, + i keep firemouths in there too and ther fine. just thought id shre my expiearences

Try some small peakcock cichlids. mix it up a bit. or instead of a firemouth maybe a geophagus they grow to a similar size.

I thought Peacock cichlids were Malawi species? If so they won't be suitable. Maybe Apistogrammas instead? I've been reading about them today and they look lovely.

Blue Acara grows to around 8".


not really suitable for a 30G.
