Hi All, am looking at upgrading my tank to a corner unit and was wondering what is better, a Juwel or Fluval...

Anyone got any advice on getting a corner unit?

Other than make sure it fits in the space you want and you can get it in the house easily (something I forgot on my last tank  ).

Personal choice would be juwel, I prefer the finish, although I believe the fluval corner tanks (Vinezia) come with an external rather than the juwel corner inbuild filter, which is easy to remove anyway.

I agree Juwel :good:

Better quality build in my opinion. The trigon 350 is a nice tank. As mentioned, the juwel comes with an internal filter (easy to remove) whilst the fluval comes with external (I think) so its up to personal preference really.

juwel, i have a fluval roma 200 and a rio 300 and 180, i have no problems with the juwels at all, the stands can be taken apart and re constructed over and over with no ill effects, the fluval however was originally put together( never been dismantled) carefully using instructions and that was april 7th.. today i cant use either siad of the cupboards as they are jammed shut.. by weight i think certainly nothing in them that would jam them, but i wouldnt buy fluval furniture again...
infact sorry to hijack but does anyone know if theres anything i can do about it,anyone to compalin to?

Shelagh, call Hagen directly, Google the number, or their email is easy to find too. I would imagine it has bowed, due to the weight of the tank, have to say not that unusual with fluvals, one of mind done it due to a small persistant condensation leak from the tank.

Write a email or a letter to Fuval. Never know might get some freebies :shifty:

just sent an email ( have to register with there site first) so ill let you know thw outcome, i didnt register the product for the warranty, so hope ill be ok with just the reciept :/

sorry for hijack :D

You only need proof of purchase to make a warranty claim Shelagh, as they cannot legally require you to register with them on purchase :good: IME, dismantling any cabinet usually makes it very flimsy, so I wouldn't make a habit of taking them apart

Personally, the one I'd buy would depend on if I was fitting a decent external. I probably would, and hence would get the Fluval as it's pre-drilled to take an external. This said, I would not run the supplied Fluval canister on it, as they are noisy, un-reliable bags of sh?? IMO/IME  If you aren't going to fit an external, I'd get the Juwel

All the best
