What Colour Silicone For New Tank?

Still hoping to get a new tank built and just sent ND an email to give me a quote. What do you think looks better black or clear silicone. I have a juwel vision 180 at the moment and do like the black silicone but whats your thoughts.

I personally like black. Clear seems to go 'green' quite quickly.

I don't think I'd ever seen a tank with black silicone until someone mentioned it on these boards, so clear for me. Seems like black would stand out much more.

My tank has black on it, and its really not very noticeable. Obviously it's only along the corner joints, which are quite noticeable in themselves. All I see is the corner, I don't look at it and think "Ugh! Black!", which I would if I got clear which was starting to go green.

My 5 foot has clear and my smaller 90 litre Roma has black.

To be honest, i cant decide either way which looks better, for me, you might as well flick a coin.

If you are having a black background...i might opt for black silicone. But either way, i dont think there is much in it.

ive just painted the back of my new seabray tank black and wish id have gone for black silicone, the clear stuff really shows up against the background!

Not something I'm going to lose sleep over though!

Ages ago when i was reading the spec sheets for silicone I think black is slightly stronger long term too due to it having better UV stability.
