I know this could be a poll, but you need two questions, one to see what you use and another to see if you like it. It's then tricky to see which one you liked or disliked. Top that off with polls never having all the options I couldn't see the point.

I have had some valued opinions for the likes of Jimbooo and Themulous, but thought i would open it up to the wider audience. I would really appreciate it if you could answer the following:

What reg do you use?
Does it fit on a fire extinguisher or disposables?
Is it easy to fine tune the bubble rate?
How much was it?
Where did you get it?
Does it or has it leaked?
Would you buy it again?
Did you bother with a solenoid?

I need to order one later this week, so any info really helps.

Cheers

What reg do you use?
Dual gauge

Does it fit on a fire extinguisher or disposables?
It is for disposables but you can buy adaptors for them to work on refillables

Is it easy to fine tune the bubble rate?
No regulator is easy to fine tune which is why we use needle valves

How much was it?
£28.99+shipping

Where did you get it?
WeldUK's website

Does it or has it leaked
Doesn't and hasn't (to my knowledge anyway)

Would you buy it again?
Yes if I needed another

Did you bother with a solenoid?
I did use the Lunapet solenoid but I don't use a solenoid now as I run 24/7

I was going to write about my JBL one which I think is very good (worked perfectly for me, easy to dial in and hasn't leaked) but for £30 I think this one wins :)

Thanks Andy, I needed to get 2 more regs so will give this one a try.

Barney, dont forget you'll need to get the adaptor as well to convert from disposable to refillable regs, which'll make it less cost effective. Unless of course you are going to use disposable cylinders.

I had a JBL reg and found it difficult to get very fine adjustments of the bubble rate, especially at lower rates, when I used it on my 24lt nano. I also found it had a tendency to 'shift' changing the bubble rate.

I use disposible bottles anyway at the moment. When I need more (one for a calcium reactor and one for a smaller planted tank) I might go for something that I cn refill. For one tank though there isn't much difference in price between getting it refilled and using disposible ones.

I seen a lot of people on here seem to have similar problems with the JBL regs. Mine seems ok (very easy to dial down to 1bps) but it does drop a bit when the pressure in the bottle drops. I assume this is the same on every reg though so I just check it daily and adjust it if needed (normally just needs adjusting to get the last day or two out of an empty bottle).

D&D Regulator

Does it fit on a fire extinguisher or disposables?
Mine works with fire extinguishers but you can buy an adapter for it to work with disposables.

Is it easy to fine tune the bubble rate?
Yes it is. Very easy to install and get working.

How much was it?
I think it was £50 including shipping on ebay. (£64.99 on AE)

Where did you get it?
Ebay

No.

Would you buy it again?
Yes.

Did you bother with a solenoid?
No, I run my CO2 24/7 with 1bubble per second.
