I got a 120l tank with 3 discus and i was wanting to know if any cichlids go with them because i like them ?

normaly discus are usually kept on there own, however it has been known that angle fish do get on well but the majority of fish keepers leave the discus to themselvesyoungie90

IMHO Angels do not get on well at all with Discus, they are much faster eaters and more aggressive. Please search the forum for Discus and angel for further info.

You know that Discus are cichlids right?

Also you shouldn't be keeping just 3 discus, they should be a in group of 5 min. In a 120l I'm not sure I would add any other cichlids, it would depend on the size of the discus, but smaller fish such as Rams and Apistos can work.

Discus need very high quality, soft and acidic water. IMO they can do well with angels if the tank is big enough, the water quality is high, and all angels are treated for internal parasites before being placed into the tank. Angels can pass on a disease that can kill the discus so keeping them togather would require a 250g minimum. Discus also do well with Rams, diffrent types are Bolivian Rams, German Blue Rams and Gold Rams.

Most NW dwarf cichlids will go well with discus but unfortunately not in a 120 l tank. You just don't have the space.

yeah, 120L is only about 33g... please be aware that a healthy adult discus can easily reach and exceed 8" in diameter. 3 is probably too many for a 120L tank; i honestly wouldn't be comfortable keeping even one in a tank that small.

if you're ever wondering how a discus would look in a given tank, put a dessert plate in there and move it around. if your plate looks like it feels crowded, then the tank is probably too small for discus.
