What Cichlids First To Get And Tank Size Requirements

Went to a pet shop and saw these lovely zebra looking ciclids and the pet assitant said they are species only tanks not to be put in our tropical fish community tank. etc guppies neon tetras mollies.

Granted they were abit big. Now what sort of tank size is good for a starter set up with cichlids and what kind are good beginner fish. What ph do they need and temp. Are they compatable with blue rams, and what other fish are they compatable with? What do they eat. Thanks for all help.

There are thousands of Cichlid species and many need totally different water paremetres ( they come from central/southern America, Africa and a few even come from Asia... )
