I have a blue acara and a severum, i also have the other fish on my signature. They are all in 50g 4ft tank but im going to be moving the smaller fish to another tank! My aim is to have a south american setup. My question is wot fish would be compatible with the acara and severum? thx for any help!

festivums , keyhole cichlids, blue and gold rams, keep silver dollars their south american just not cichlids.

How big is the severum , if small, angels can grow up toghether with them quite well. neither the acara or severum are that aggressive they will eat only what fits in their mouth. A firemouth will do well also. Rams may not work if severum is too big but will work if they grow toghether.

Presently my blue acara lives with 3 festivums 3 angels 1 firemouth 1 keyhole 2 blue rams 1 convict all raised toghether as small fish though (55 gallon 4 foot). Convicts can be nasty would not recommend this one.

I had 2 gold sevs with silver dollars , firemouths, and cons many years ago.

Get some more Tiger barbs....They should be kept in groups of atleast 6. I am be wrong but your silver dollars are also a schooling fish. Really once you get the right amounts of what you already have i'd say you were stocked if not over stocked.

Angelfish will work, they are SA, and faitly calm like Acara's and Sev's.

Edit= Only get Angels if those barbs are moving. I would just increase the sizes of your schools, especially those Silver Dollars..

I think wot im going to do is keep the acara, severum, silver dollars, tiger loach and my catfish, In that tank and move the rest. I will then get some more silver dollars to take the numbers up to six. But im still not sure wot other cichlid to go for, im not to keen on angels and festivums.
i think my severum is to big for me to get some rams. So that leaves me with the firemouth  mmmmmm.... had these before gd fish but im not sure, its not quite a south american....... still my tiger loach is not south american... -_-

If you go with three more dollars tank will be filled to max maybe a little over crowded. Three will be fine its recommended to keep 5 or more but I have had these for years they will do fine in a group of three. Some species of silver dollars get quite large up to 8-9 inches.

I have two red hook silver dollars and two reg silver dollars in a 100 gallon and they do quite well together. Have had these two sets in seperate tanks before and did quite well as a set of two. The reg silver dollars are 9 years old and have been in four different tanks during their life here.
The redhooks are 4-5 years old.

could put firemouths in there once they out grow th 81litre!
solves both posts... should be fine, right?
pair of firemouths
severum
blue acara
no room for (more) dollars tho sorry :-(
