I am now down to 1 female guppy, 1 neon, and 3 zebra danios. Just wondering if it'd be easier to rehome the female guppy and the neon, and keep the 3 danios. If so, what could I put with them, other than the typical tetras? Would dwarf puffers work? Or gouramis?

First, what size is your tank?
Dwarf puffers are a big no-no, enless your going to be using your other fish as feeders, if you know what I mean LoL.
If you have enough room (when you tell us what size tank you have) then I would suggest getting atleast 3 more danios because if kept in smaller groups they tend to be more nippy-and that could be bad news for your female guppy and your lone neon.
Neons also like to be kept in groups of 6 or more, so I would add more of those.

EDIT: Oops :*) Didn't see your signature.
I would suggest finding the danios a new home, because they are very active fish and would love a tank of atleast 20 gallons to live in. A 10 gallon doesn't really give them the room they need.
After that, you could add 5 more neons, and then get your female guppy a guppy friend. I would suggest another female friend instead of a male because the male might harrass her too much. Hope that helps :)

I guess I should have gotten a bigger tank to start with... maybe in the future I can swap to a 20-gallon... I'm just short on space right now.
Anyway, I'd really like to get rid of the neon and guppy and the danios, too, since they need a bigger place. What kind/how many puffers could I put in a 10 gal? Is there anything other than puffers that can be put in with puffers?

(I guess I should have really looked at fish before I bought any!)

Information on dwarf puffers can be found here: Dwarf Puffers Profile

More information over here: Setting Up a 10G

All the information you want/need will be in there

Very very short:

2 dwarf puffers tops, though they might fight eachother and hurt or kill the other
not adviced keeping anything with them at all, though you have a slight chance of pulling off keeping ottos or bristlenose plec with them (these too can easily get killed)

all the information should be in those 2 topics though. Specially the second one should be of great help to you.

--Edit--

Edited to say that dwarf puffers prefer a mature tank rather than a freshly setup tank, so I dont think your tank is quite ready for it yet.

Wow! I can't believe they need that much room for such a little fish! Since I have gravel already and all, I guess I'll wait until I can get a 5-gal set up and get a dwarf puffer. Then I can set it up right from the beginning.
Are there any non-community fish that would do good with gravel that I could stock the tank with? (Other than the sharks.) I'm just not so excited about the run-of-the-mill guppies, tetras and platys they offer around here.

I know what you mean....my two lfs only stock the "standered" fish you can find practicly everywhere so I'm not much of a help suggesting fish. I've only really kept danios, livebearers, tetras, cories and bettas, nothing really exciting. Maybe you could make it into a ADF (african dwarf tank) tank? That would look kinda cool. You could probably keep atleast 5 in there too, maybe 8?

How hardy are those frogs? They're really cute, but they look like the smallest change in pH or ammonia, etc in the water would kill them. Maybe, since I have 1 guppy and 1 neon already, I could just get another guppy or 2 and then 3-4 more neons. I could take the danios back and get a few frogs. Would that be overstocking?
