What Are They Doing?

Okay, I had one blue Kenyi Cichlid which I understand is female, correct? So today I found a yellow Kenyi Cichlid and bought it. After reading online, I found out the yellow one is a male. So, they are chasing each other, the female chasing the male all over the tank. I just saw them at the back of the tank with what looks like their mouths locked together, but they aren't locked, it was as if they were kissing! Are they breeding? or fighting?

Sounds like a definate territory dispute, when Cichlid's lock mouths they are fighting. Keep an eye on them.

By the way, yellow is male and blue is female, they can't both be male.

They could both be male, some maylandia lombardoi change color later both my males were blue when bought and changed to orange, one was about the same size of many others in the tabnk that were yellow so judgeing by juvie cvolors is not reliable but if they are one female one male you need to get more females or return one of the ones you have mbuna like your kennyi should not be kept in pairs

EDIT sorry ferris most everything on that link is wrong, ( specifically 25 gallons is too small never feed fish or worms do not even consider 1o gallons try 75 at the very least 50, females may have eggspots...) in brief ignore entire article

No probs vantgE, that will teach me to read links a little more carefully. I have to agree with you, your link is more accurate. I've found the website I used pretty reliable in the past but not this time.
