Help! I've bought two fish and stupidly don't know what they are! I have black mollies, silver mollies, glowlight tetras, neon tetras, two catfish and a siamese fighting fish and I've noticed these two new ones are very agressive. They are fairly large, roughly the same size as the silver mollies (slightly larger), a dull colour, with what I would describe as large scales (compared to all the other fish), there is an orange stripe along the side of each one, and the fins are slightly yellow? They look similar to checkered barbs from the very little info I could find on the net.

Any clues anyone, I've googled a lot and just can't find them anywhere and they're causing a real problem, they chase anything that comes near them and I've come home from work this evening to find one of my lovely silver mollies has a huge chunk out of its tail, I'm sure these two fish are the culprits as I keep catching them trying to take bites of the others.

Aside from this, what can I do with them? i don't have another tank?

Thanks very much indeed from a newbie :)

Yes! Thats them, thank you.

Are they known for being aggressive?

I've just been do a partial water change and the silver molly that had a chunk taken out of its tail is looking really poorly now :(

What size tank do you have? You should return the barbs to the LFS you got them from and, if your tank is large enough, get more of the tetras you already have as they are schooling fish and should be in groups of at least 6. Hopefuly, you have at least a 20 gallon.
