What Are The Tentacles On My Gourami

Do they grow longer?
if they get bit, do they grow back?

Hi Dave,

The tentacles are used in addition to the eyes for feeling their way around, feeling whats going on around them, and even finding food.

If they get bitten, they will grow back.

My Pearl Gourami uses them all the time, she feels new fish to say hello to them and feels my finger.

Are these modified fin rays?... not tentacles per say.... there's got to be some research on gourami anatomy out there somewhere.
