what wattage are your lights or do you know your WPG?

If you get them then your WPG will be 2.5WPG which will be enough to grow any of them. You need at least 2wpg for the above which means you need at least 56watts of light. your tank is height is below 24" so you don't need to worry about depth.

thanks aaron i think i worked out my wpg would be 2.25 if i buy that latest light.

Yeah 2.25 wpg is more then enough. One thing you will wont to think about it CO2. With that amount of light you will really need to look at more then a DIY CO2 system in my opinion.

it will have to do for a while.....then may look to updating...

You can grow all the plants on your list well with over 2WPG and the addition of CO2 and ferts. Just take into account positioning when you scape. The anubias will appreciate being in more shaded portions of your tank, especially if you increase the lighting level.

So which is it? Low light or higher light? Again, if this is your first tank, I'd recommend lower light levels, as you have more time to react against algae build up.

i have had plants before val and anubias etc they have done well

Have a read of the pinned lighting article it'll give you most of the answers :)
