What are the least Agressive Cichlids????

Hey guys, what are the least agressive Cichlids that get to be above 7" big???

I'm by no means going to try to answer that question directly but...

The temperament of each fish can widly vary within a species. Usually the larger more brilliant collored fish are stronger therefore more likely to display that strength. Yet there are no sure signs of a fish's agression level. Also fish of the same species are more likely to 'babble' with each other as a means of establishing pecking order.

But probably more along an answer your looking for... Pacus are the most docile chiclids I've personally had. But DON'T GET ONE! They simply get bigger than a sane person can house.

i personally would say severums they are the gentle giants but a breeding pair can be

All Cichlid breeding pairs will be aggressive cichlids. Ones that have a natural aggressive attitude that only grow 7'' though? I cant tihnk of any.

IME Flower Horns, Red Devils, Texas, Oscars, and Jags are the truly only "get-out-of-its-way" Cichlids. Red Devils, Jags and Flower Horns are known to take on packs of Piranhas and come out with nothing more than a missing scale or two!

Nicaraguensis are very docile. Males reach about 8", females about 5". Sevs are certainly there as well.

Pacus are not cichlids nutcase.

I also agree with the others who said that sevs are non-aggressive too

I know im jsut trying to get all possible options, im am currently debating between a gold severum and a geo. I have a feeling i can find a gold severum easier but well see.

why not get both? neither of them are real expensive and u can probly special order a Geo from an LFS
