what are the disinfectants that I can add to my tank? Do I have to add some even if the fish are okay? If so how often?

No there is no reason to disinfect the tank, a mature filter, not overstocking, (its easy to end up overstocked with livebearers) and water changes are all thats required to maintain a healthy tank and fish.

By disinfectant, do you mean water conditioner? The kind to remove chlorine and chloramines? If so, yes, they need to be added with every water change, even if the fish are okay. Treat the water before its added to the tank. I highly recommend Prime.
