What are the chances that my Platy are pregnant?

I am only asking this as i would like to hope that they might be.

I recently brought two girls from my LFS, but i was wondering what are the chances that they got pregnant before i brought them?

They have little pot bellies, but is that how they always look?

If they have a gravid spot/patch which is basically a dark area located a the back of the fish's tummy, then yes they are most likely pregnant.
But i strongly advise you deliberatly try to buy pregnant fish in the future, it is highly stressful for the fish and will significantly increase the chances of all kinds of birthing and fry difficultys.
