I think it is a juvii Nimbochromis livingstonii. It is definatly African though.

It's definately a Rift Lake Cichlid, but I'm no expert on them at all. I just know it's not an SA or CA My dad said it could be a Haplochromis sp. but he's not sure. I'm sure someone will be along soon to ID it.

i look at the suggestions it does look like a jaquar but the color patterns haven't matched anything i have seen weird maybe when it gets older it will be easier to find out just like with most cichlid.

I'd also say young N.Livingstoni

Its definatly a nimbochromis species. Its face is too spotty to be a venustus or livingstonni, so id say either polystigma or linni. Looking at the shape of the face my best guess, polystigma
