I currently have a 10 gallon MarineLand tank with a Bio-Wheel filter system. I have four plastic plants two are on the smaller side while the other two are a bit larger. There is also a small rock decoration hidden in with two of the plants. As I'm new to this, I didn't think to cycle it before adding Neon Tetras, but that's being resolved. Currently it has four Neon Tetras and one male Betta. As the type of filter system I own is effecient, I found out a good thing to do was just buy one other filter to replace and switch them when needed. So, I have a "back-up" filter. I also have plenty of Betta food and Tetra food.
On my list of things to buy...
1.) "Detoxifier" to clean tap water before doing water changes.
2.) Silk plants/Live plants? As I read, plastic plants somtimes can cut Betta's fins, although mine don't seem to have roughness to them, I'm thinking silk plants might be better. Live plants also help the water and such, right? So I'm thinking of one of those two.
3.) So now that I need to cycle with just the Betta, I read somewhere that there are certain crystals and the like that ae sold to help the cycling process, I'm thinking of looking into something like Bio-Spira.
4.) Some "live" treats for the fellas.
So, is there anything else that I should add to that list? Thanks so much for the help, it is greatly appreciated.
