Water Garden Soil Mix
Format:
18 litres

One 18-litre bag is sufficient to plant approximately about 10 plants in 15 cm pots (6 in).

Characteristics:
Creates a high level of stability and helps aquatic plants to become anchored to the bottoms of artificial basins.
A heavy soil that doesn’t mix with water.
Contains clay.
Uses:
Specially created for the culture of aquatic plants and for plants growing in humid areas.
Components:
Black earth (humus), sand, granulated clay, calcite stone.

Could I put this under sand in my 77 gal tank?

No warnings....or comments?
I'm going to pick some up today when I leave work. If I shouldnt....tell me now.

It seems to press the right buttons.

1" of the soil, and no more than 1" of sand should work ok. (Or you could try searching for Tom Barr's alternative mixture method - sorry, I can't find the link but someone else will help I'm sure  ).

Keep an eye out for ammonia and pH, and make sure you've good water circulation.

The humus will decay and act as a carbon source. It may also make the water a bit yellow (not as much as bogwood does though) but water changes will keep this under control if you don't like it.
