What A Mission!

Hi all,

So I thought yesterday when I did my water change, 'time for a filter clean'.. so I removed the pipes... with water spillage! pipes.. which were dirty!

That is one of the pipes it had a gooey type brownish slime..! Cleaned it with that bamboo stick, put a cloth piece at the end and 'wiped' it through..

Pipes were 'see-through' again!!

The mission began when I installed everything back again... it took me a full 1 1/2 to get the 'siphoning' working again.. I pressed that siphon button about a million times!.. it really took a long time.. my hand was really hurting!.. and this morning so do my arms..

So in all it took about 2 1/2 hours!!! but I must say with the pipes clean the water has really been flowing so well.. and tank is crystal clear

The easiest way I syphon my externals is

Have the external intake pipe setup ( if taken out)

Make sure all pipes and clips done up

Then suck on the external out take pipe and as soon as I feel air pressure in my mouth I point it straight in to the tank as will get a mouth full of water then let it sit for couple mins to make sure all air has risen through media ect.

Then turn on an you should find all the air is out and you should be good to go

If not turn it straight off shake it and should be done if not repeat till sorted

It was a real mission to get it started again.. hand and shoulders are still hurting!
Thank God you dont have to clean pipes that often, in 6 months time next! lol
