What A Mess!

So my filter has been really weak recently, so took it apart to give it a clean and as I did this I dropped it into the tank!!! Now the tank is literally covered in rubbish Ive plugged the filter back in to hopefully start filtering it but any ideas how to help it?

I did a big water change but literally did nothing because the rubbish is floating all over the place!

try taking your net and skimming the surface? that's what i'd do...

I've done that before. I just let my filter run full speed ahead and let it re-collect the junk and then take it out and clean again. It takes a couple of hours.

Yes, happened to me too. I'd just used the last of my dechlor at the time, too, so I couldn't even do another large water change and had no choice but to leave the filter to clear the gunk... by the next day it was looking much better but I felt really horrified at the time and felt so sorry for the fish.

leave the filter on like the others said... maybe in the morning just do a water change so that the bits that fell on the gravel can be collected
