Fish Crazy
So, I got up at 2am to take my sister to the airport and got home again at 5am.
As soon as I got back to my bedroom I heard a loud electrical crackling, which I thought "this cant be good". My visitherm heater light was blinking and the coil was crackling. I unplugged it and took it out of the tank - the tube cracked in the night and the bottom fell off!
At 9am I went over to Pets@Home (I only bought from P@H because my juwel heater died at 7pm and all the decent shops were closed) to get a replacement under the 5 year warranty, they didn't want to know, saying it was normal wear & tear !
Then I went over to my LFS and bought a tetratec HT200.
I was quite worried, by the time I got home my tank was only 18*C, the heater has been on now for around 2 hours and the temperature is back up to 24*C, another 30 mins or so and it should be back up to 26*C.
It's not all bad though, the huge drop in temperature has prompted my odessa barbs to spawn, my two males have gone really dark red and have been fighting & chasing the females into the large wysteria plant.
