honest opinions most appreciated

id add in alot more live plants. I read if you have alot of live plants you wont have to cycle the tank because they use ammonia and other things.

not a clue yet lol

i like zebradanios and gourami , tetras , cichlids catfish , guppys ... but dont know what are compatable ... id like some schoaling fish for my little girl

I love the setup so far, you should add more plants, lots more plants, that would make it look awesome. neon tetras always look good in a planted tank *hint hint*

Looks nice, I like the undulating gravel effect ! - how about some bubbles and maybe more plants to cover up the heater?

Good luck

Rita

although some plants do absorb ammonia, they mostly abosrb nitrates, which is the end product of biological filtration produced by your filter.

plants will help but they won't cut down cycling. In fact, they will do very little for it....

Your tank looks nice. I would just try to fill up the background with a few more plants like vallis or something similar

they do use nitrate, but not ammonia.
and adding plants is no excuse to not cycle a tank, what are you trying to do, tell nuttyfishgirl a surefire way to kill her fish?

i wasn't being rude, i was just trying to point out that what you said was wrong, don't take it personally, i'm sure we have all read bad information at one time or another. sheesh.

how you said it was rude.

"what are you trying to do, tell nuttyfishgirl a surefire way to kill her fish?"
