I just got done testing my well water and I'm kinda confused as to what I should do with it. My readings from an aquarium pharmecutiacals kit are as follows:

Ammonia: 8 ppm
Nitrite: 0 pmm
Nitrate: 0 ppm
PH: 8

There's a reason why we don't drink it :D Now the girl at my lfs suggested starting out by using Wardley's 3 in 1 before the cycling begins. Then, after it finishes cycling and the fish are in, to start using Seachem Stability with water changes.

What do you guys think?

Are you sure the ammonia is that high? Certain levels of ammonia are not only harmfull for fish but for humans as well.. try retesting you may have got a bad reading that just sounds to high.

already retested....yeah its that high. Kent Island, where I live, used to be mostly farm land. So I suspect the ammonia is probably coming from the fertilizers that were used.

I never drink this stuff but I am thinking about getting a water softener and treatment center installed after tax time.
