If you guys remember in the past, I had some trouble with the Pearl Gouramis getting along. Last week, I had placed the female in the 55 gallon with the male. As densely planted as my 55 gallon is, things still became out of hand. She displayed obvious breeding behavior, though, the male did not. So, even though the male was a total jerk to her, she would still, just over and over approach him, trying to brush up beside him, she would hug him with her feelers and this just enraged the male to nibble and peck at her. Rarely, did I see these two swim together, peacefully. So, when shove came to shove, I didn't want to just have her live her life out in the quarantine again, so I asked my lfs shop if they would like to take her in. So, that's what I did today... I really, really didn't want to give her up. She was so sweet, however, she had been responsible for chewing my cories tail up, probably because she likes to steal the veggie rounds I feed them and got aggressive.
I was glad my boss told me to put her in the val tank, where it's just a few green neon tetra and a jungle of vals. I just hope if anyone buys her, she'll be going into good hands...

You did the right thing for your fish. good job, and sorry you had to give one up.

Well, I tried contacting other local aquarists, but no one answered my offer for her, so as a last resort, I asked my job if they would take her in...

Most of the customers who come by our place are reliable and knowledgeable, so I'm really hoping she'll go to a good home...

This is the first (and hopefully the last) case where I had to give up one of my kids- I mean fish...

I had to do the same with 2 female angelfish that were causing problems with my breeding pair. It broke my heart to lose one of them as she was platinum angel and absolutely stunning.
I know how you feel. It's not nice :(
