Weird Stuff On The Bottom Of My Tank

there's some weird stuff on the bottom of my tank that wasn't here this morning. i tried scraping it with my algae scraper to see if it would come off.

i even stuck my arm inside the tank and gave it a feel. it didn't feel anything different than glass (my tank is bare bottom), and the fish don't seem to be acting abnormal because of it.

could it be something to do with a tank leak and moisture building up underneath the tank (i have a towel between the tank bottom and the tv set).

What does it look like? If it is from moisture under the tank it would probably be white and foggy. how long had the tank been set up?

tank has been set up for almost 1.5 years.

Why is it on the TV set with a towel??

the towel's there to absorb any water spilled during water changes so it doesn't get on the wooden tv set.

But if a good amount of water is absorbed by the towel... the towel retains it underneath the bottom of the tank and on the wooden TV set and keeps it there which could cause the wood to bubble. Personally, I would get a glass table top or glass sheet to put on the TV set first, then place the tank there... or just find another location for the tank.

a picture would be useful, i laso would never have a tank on an electrical appliance, just incase water changes go horribly wrong, m buzzing enough already
