Alright, I have what I think might be a newbie question. In my 55, I have 3 plants that I am starting with right now that I am growing from bulbs. I forget the name and couldnt exactly be bothered to look it up, but I have noticed an oddity. I planted them about 2 weeks ago, and when I took a look at them today, I noticed that they are growing weird. I have one planted right by my bubbler, which is growing like NUTS. It is about a foot tall now. My other 3 bulbs have sprouted, and are only about 5 inches high. Is this weird? I have read that plants do not like oxygen and to remove bubblers when growing them, but this TOTALLY throws that out the window. Anyways, here is some more information. Where the big plant is growing, that is where my danios chill out. THe other ones are more of less owned by other fish. My 5" pleco owns one and my little gouramis I just got own the other two. Any type of connection?

Yes, it does sound strange. But the answer is probably more complex. It could be growing because of difference in light, nutrition in substrate.

Tall growth can sometimes happen with lack of light as well where the plants grow scraggly and towards light.

Also bubblers do not add oxygen to your tank, they just help aerate the water thus improving gas exchange at the surface.

If you bought the bulbs in a kit, they are probably different plants. The big one is probably a sword or something like that. The others are probably slower bloomers. Plants are like people......we all grow based on our genetic makeup....blah de blah de blah

No, I did not buy them in a kit. I bought them all as bulbs from Petsmart and they were all the exact same type, and look exactly the same. I dunno, maybe you are right. Maybe the plant is just in some type of perfect light, water cycling, nutrition thing. Thanks for the replies guys!
