has anyone ever seen their otos hanging on another fish? this morning i saw 2 of my otos hanging on my angel. the angel quickly swam away and the otos fell off. however, when the angel swam near the otos again they quickly jumped back onto the angel. is this normal behavior? do you think something is wrong with either or both the otos and angel? other than that both the otos and angel are behaving normally, eating, swimming, etc.

all plecos like to stick to flat and slow fish. My brothers large pleco tryes to stick on his goldfish often.

oh really? phew! i didn't realize this. i've never seen my otos do this before and my plec certainly never has. but then again, i think the plec is probably too large to hang on any of my fish - dwarf gouramis, angel and tetras.

and some people may say that ottos are not a pleco, but they are. they are suposed to even have an L #, but I wouldnt see why.

I've heard of this before, turns out you have "attack oto's". This happens to some otos. They maybe feeding of the slime coat of the angel so it's best to watch it closely for any signs of distress. Then again it may just be helping the oto's to a cruise of the tank or something.

it is normal that plecos for to suck on slow and flat animals. That is why you shouldnt keep pleco types with discus, angels, and fancey goldfish.

this isnt normal. this harms the angel.
oh great! does everyone suggest i take the otos back to the lfs? i don't really want to get rid of my angel, he's obnoxious but i like him :p and, does anyone know why the otos do this?

like I said, it is normal that a pleco will suck on a slow and flat fish. this doesnt mean that it wil always happen, I have a pleco and ottos in with my angels, and there is no sucking at all. You may want to remove the otto, and return him to the tank in a week or so.
